The UOC stated that the publications about the transfer of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the jurisdiction of the OCU do not correspond to reality, reports news.church.ua.

“Regarding the fake about the Lavra and the OCU. In connection with the information disseminated in the media about the registration of the legal entity "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra of the OCU" and the conjectures associated with it, it should be explained that this structure has nothing to do with the real Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. It is registered at a different address, and its appearance is not eventuated by the liquidation of the real Lavra of the UOC, to which its historical premises were returned back in 1988,” the Information and Education Department of the UOC reported.

The message added that information about a parallel legal entity called "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" in the jurisdiction of the UOC-KP existed in the corresponding register many years ago, but "no monastery of the UOC-KP on the site of the Lavra has ever existed in reality."

The Synodal Department of the UOC noted that this is the case now.

“The OCU informed it had registered a fake religious structure without monks,” the UOC added.

As the UOJ reported earlier, the OCU reps announced they had registered the charter of their monastery in the Kyiv Lavra.
