On January 5, 2023, the UOC spokesperson, Archpriest Mykola Danylevych, commenting on the absence of parishioners in the OCU temples, said that the same will happen to the Dormition and Refectory churches of the Upper Lavra. He wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

Father Mykola quoted a priest from the Chernihiv region, Oleh Huha, who said that the OCU took away 17 churches in their region, and now they stand empty: "No services, no supervision, zero..."

"I think the same will happen to the Upper Lavra: they will gather people for the first service, a hype, an info wave, and then the same will happen as at St. Sofia’s and St. Theodosius’s, where there is no full house," the UOC spokesman expressed confidence.

At the same time, he stressed that this will not make the schismatics return the temples to the canonical Church.

As reported, Dumenko will "serve" at the Lavra’s Dormition Cathedral on Christmas Day.
