The charity foundation of non-factional deputy Vadim Novinsky “In honor of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary” will allocate 100 thousand hryvnias to the families of 43 Ukrainian doctors who died of COVID-19. The MP reported about it on his Facebook page, congratulating health workers on their professional holiday.
Expressing gratitude to all health professionals for their dedicated work, thanks to which "thousands of Ukrainians have already recovered from a dangerous illness and the mortality rate from coronavirus in our country remains one of the lowest in the world," Novinsky stressed that on this day one cannot help but recall the doctors who sacrificed their lives in the fight against the pandemic.
“To date, the sad martyrology numbers 43 health workers who have died at their combat posts. Our Foundation "In honor of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary" decided to allocate 100 thousand hryvnias to the families of each of the 43 doctors who died as a result of COVID-19 disease. This is a small fraction of what today can be done for inconsolable relatives," the parliamentarian noted.
As reported by the UOJ, on the Day of the Medical Worker, with the blessing of the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, prayers for doctors were offered in all temples and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
