On March 29, 2023, Archimandrite Abramius (Lotysh), the former monk of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, was banned from priestly service for falling into schism and grossly violating his oath of office, reports the UOC Information and Education Department.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine banned Archimandrite Abramius from ministry, without the right to Communion of Holy Orders, for actions that violate the 10th, 11th, and 39th Canons of the Holy Apostles and the 2nd Canon of the Council of Antioch.

As reported, Archimandrite Abramius (Lotysh) was appointed the new "acting abbot" of the Lavra from the OCU.
