Court refuses Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to secure a claim against Reserve

On March 30, 2023, the Economic Court of Kyiv denied the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to secure a claim against the National Reserve to terminate the lease agreement unilaterally, reports the Minister of Culture Oleksandr Tkachenko on his Telegram channel.

The court refused the brethren of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in the demand to prohibit the authorities to evict them from the monastery for the duration of the lawsuit in court.

“The court refused to secure the claim in case No. 910/4552/23 from the UOC to the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" on the invalidation of the transaction on the unilateral refusal of the contract, the application of the consequences of the invalidity of the termination of Contract No. 2 of July 19, 2013, on the free use of religious buildings and other state-owned property by religious organizations,” he said.

As reported, the Economic Court of Kyiv opened proceedings on the claim of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
