Lawyers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have applied to the police in connection with the threat of provocations by radicals in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and their calls to attack believers, reports Metropolitan Сlement, the head of the UOC Information and Education Department.
"We have written a statement to the police regarding the facts that have been made public in social networks," the bishop said. “These facts indicate that there are such radically-minded persons who organize mass disturbances and violations of law and order. Now it is up to the police, how they will perform their duties".
Vladyka also called on the faithful not to respond to provocations.
As reported, on 30 March 2023, the leader of the right-wing radical organization S14, Evgen Karas, urged his supporters to attack the UOC worshippers in groups near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
