On June 1, 2023, on Children's Day, Archpriest Oleksiy Hodun, Head of the Department for Family Affairs of the Kyiv Eparchy of the UOC, and Archpriest Vladyslav Dolomansky, Head of the Eparchy's Medical Department, donated 30 beds to the Okhmatdyt National Children's Specialized Hospital. This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC.

The diocese provided assistance to the hospital through cooperation with the Eleos charity foundation of the Polish Orthodox Church.

In addition, the Orthodox clergy of Kyiv became blood donors for children who undergo treatment at Okhmatdyt.

Also on June 1, the secretary of the Kyiv eparchy of the UOC for Kyiv, Archpriest Viktor Ivashchuk, led a prayer for children in the academic church of the Nativity of the Virgin in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The clergy asked God for the health, well-being and peaceful life of the children, as well as for the repose of the infants and youths who died during the war in Ukraine, including during the last rocket attack on Kyiv.

As the UOJ reported, with the blessing of Metropolitan Theodore of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod, a charity camp is being organized in Transcarpathia for IDP children and children from low-income families.
