On June 18, 2023, in the OCU monastery on the Cossack graves, Serhiy Dumenko “consecrated” a new icon, which they called “With weapons in the hands and God in the heart,” the 104th brigade of the territorial defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, for which the image was painted, reports on its Facebook page.

The military write that “they chose the Most Holy Theotokos as the patroness of the icon, who even in Cossack times acted as an intercessor for the Ukrainian army and a protector from the enemy.”

On the icon are the defenders of Ukraine of different times. As they write in the 104th brigade, these are Cossacks, UPA soldiers and modern Ukrainian heroes. On the right side are people who look like Stepan Bandera, Roman Shukhevych and Yevhen Konovalets. It is known from open sources that they were all Uniates.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Protestant bishop asked God for F-16s and rockets "in the name of Christ."
