Metropolitan Pavel, the Lavra abbot, is in the building where suspects under articles investigated by the SBU are being held. His health state and detention conditions are satisfactory, Lavra's lawyer Archpriest Nikita Chekman said on his Telegram channel.

"With the Metropolitan now everything is fine, he sends God's blessing and gratitude to everyone for prayers and support," the lawyer said.

According to him, the bishop is receiving care packages with everything necessary for his stay in pre-trial detention. There is water available in the cell, and he even has the opportunity to take a shower.

The lawyer also said that at the moment the funds for bail are being collected.
