Due to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19 in Ukraine, a "weekend" quarantine plan is being developed. This was announced on October 8 by Mikhail Radutsky, head of the parliamentary committee on the health of the nation, MP from the Servant of the People faction, on the air of the Right to Power program.

According to the deputy, currently the authorities cannot reintroduce strict quarantine. “But we can introduce the weekend quarantine, when a family stays indoors for a weekend and does not go anywhere: either to restaurants or to concerts in Kharkiv or elsewhere. This is feasible and is not about closure of enterprises, this is not a stoppage,” he stressed.

“My second suggestion is to do what Shevchenko University did. It sent students to distance learning. I believe that schools and universities should be sent to distance learning now,” added Radutsky. The parliamentarian hopes that the president will support his initiative.

Mikhail Radutsky also noted that WHO has changed the criteria for dividing Ukraine into quarantine danger zones. In this regard, they plan to discuss innovations at a meeting with the President of Ukraine scheduled for October 10.

Recall that due to the increase in the incidence of COVID-19, adaptive quarantine in Ukraine was extended until November 1. The country is actively preparing hospitals for the onset of the second wave of the pandemic and also purchasing additional ventilators. Also, a new Covid-19 test has been developed to combat coronavirus in Ukraine.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that drugs for the prevention of COVID-19 would appear in Ukraine.
