The Israeli Embassy in the Vatican says the Latin Patriarchate's text on the war is "characterised by immoral ambiguity".

The Israeli Embassy to the Holy See has criticized the statement by Cardinal Pizzaballa of the Roman Catholic Church in Jerusalem regarding the war between Israel and Palestine, as reported by kath.net.

In a statement released on Saturday evening, the so-called Latin Patriarchate, led by Cardinal Pizzaballa, commented on the Arab-Israeli conflict, stating that "the operation from Gaza and the response from the Israeli army take us back to the worst times of our recent history".

According to the Catholic hierarch of Jerusalem, "it goes about a military campaign from both sides, which is very troubling in its form, dynamics, and scale."

The Ambassador of Israel to the Vatican stated that the text from the Latin Patriarchate is "extremely disappointing and distressing" as it "is characterized by immoral ambiguity".

As earlier reported, the head of the military wing of HAMAS, Muhammad Daf, announced the beginning of a military operation against Israel called "Operation Al-Aqsa Sword".
