The spokesperson for the UOC, Archpriest Nikolai Danilevich, on his Telegram channel, commented on the information that appeared on the Internet that Patriarch Bartholomew would allegedly arrive in Ukraine at the end of January and ban the entire episcopate of the UOC.

“Patriarch Bartholomew will not come to Ukraine either at the end of January or in February. He plans to come in August 2021 to celebrate the Independence Day of Ukraine. This has been officially announced,” the priest wrote on the Telegram channel.

He also added that at the moment there is no confirmation that Patriarch Bartholomew wants to ban the episcopate of the UOC.

“Even if he did it, it would be absurd and such an action would even more compromise him. I do not want to say that this cannot be because after all that he has done, I will no longer be surprised at anything. But I just want to say that at the moment there is no confirmation of this information,” the priest said.

As reported, the head of Phanar announced that he would come to Ukraine in August 2021.
