On November 7, 2023, the SBU and National Police personnel were observed near the St. Michael's Church of the UOC in the village of Ruski Heyivtsi and in the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Chervone in the Zakarpattia region. Law enforcers are conducting "counterintelligence activities" in the holy places, reports “UP”.
According to media reports, in these temples, people may allegedly have been "praying for the Russian clergy", "justifying Russian military aggression against Ukraine" and "inciting interreligious discord".
Additionally, the law enforcers are investigating the legality of the land allocation for the religious shrines.
As reported, the SBU searched the Koretsk Convent for weapons and subversives.
