Romanian MP Dumitru Viorel Focșa posted on his Facebook a video of the armed SBU visiting the Bancheny Monastery, claimed violations of the rights of Ukrainian Romanians and called on his country to annul the 1940 treaty by returning Bukovyna.
"May God be with all of you! Here in Romania, we know what is going on. And Kyiv will have to explain to Brussels and Bucharest these barbaric bullying of Romanians in Northern Bukovyna," Focșa wrote, adding that "Stalin's 1940 fascist-communist pact with Hitler must be broken!"
"Bukovyna is Romania!" Focșa declared.
He called on all Romanians in Ukraine to change their names in their Facebook profiles to Latin characters as a sign of protest, explaining that "we cannot protect you if you do not show love for your roots".
The MP also quoted one of the comments on his Facebook, adding that he fully agreed with it: "The flames on the tower of the Orthodox Church in Northern Bukovyna foreshadow the actor's exit from history, because anyone who dares to raise his hand against the holy defender of abandoned children Mykhailo Zhar, abbot of the Bancheny Monastery, will be burned and turned to ashes."
Focșa said Ukraine "must be forced to respect the minorities on its present territory". This includes with regard to their "great faith".
He said Romania could "offer, advise or use the levers of international treaties free of charge".
"Long live Greater Romania in the old borders! Only by uniting together, we will succeed!" the MP said.
As earlier reported, according to MP Artem Dmytruk, all those who committed lawlessness in Bancheny will be punished.
