Sergei (Epiphany) Dumenko called the OCU "ancient and apostolic in terms of its foundation," and also thanked Patriarch Bartholomew for "sacrificing ministry with a view to its growth and recognition by other sister Churches." Dumenko wrote about this on his Facebook page congratulating the head of the Patriarchate of Constantinople on his 81st birthday.
Due to the "sacrificial ministry" of the OCU, Patriarch Bartholomew, according to Dumenko, "has to endure a lot of unfair and unfounded, even spiteful verbal attacks from those who would like to further rely on the power of this world, rather than on truth and love."
According to Sergei, his predecessors at the See of Constantinople pray for Patriarch Bartholomew before the Throne of God, and therefore "all evil and unjust plots of his opponents have failed and will fail."
As the UOJ reported, according to the wife of the priest from Berestye, Bartholomew's actions in Ukraine are horrible.
