On 27 January 2024, Bucha hosted a meeting between representatives of local authorities and "priests" of the OCU, the Bucha Town Council reports on its Facebook page.

The event was led by Taras Shapravsky, the Secretary of the Bucha Town Council.

Officials reported that they have already transferred nine UOC churches to the OCU and three more are at the stage of re-registration.

One of the main issues on the agenda was "the illegal religious activities of representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate on land plots that are not provided for this purpose".

"We must do everything possible to ensure that the activities of the Moscow Patriarchate do not have consequences for our residents. Therefore, for this purpose we have already outlined a project plan for the future," said the head of the Archive Department of the Bucha Town Council Ihor Bartkiv during the meeting.

As reported, Sts. Peter and Paul’s Church was seized in Bucha at night. Bandits broke down the front doors and entered the church. At the same time, about 300 parishioners of the temple back in August 2022 testified to their faithfulness to the UOC.
