His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry banned the former brother of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Hieromonk Innokenty (Pidtoptany) from serving for backsliding into schism, glavcom.ua reported citing an official document.
In the text of the decree, signed by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, it is said that Pidtoptany is banned from ministry without the right to partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ "on the basis of the 10th, 11th and 39th canons of the Holy Apostles, the 2nd canon of the Council of Antioch, for backsliding into schism and gross violation of the oath of a clergyman."
On March 13, 2021, the former Hieromonk of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra was admitted to the number of the “clergy” of the Pereyaslav-Vishneve “diocese” of the OCU, headed by “Metropolitan” Alexander (Drabinko).
As the UOJ previously reported, on December 13, 2020, the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, officiated the consecration of Archimandrite Varnava (Hladun) as Bishop of Novobuh, vicar of the Mykolayiv Diocese.
