The head of the ROC Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media Vladimir Legoyda commented on his TG channel on the call of the former Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to "purge" the monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Vladimir Legoyda noted that the statements of Lieutenant General of the SBU Aleksandr Skipalsky were heard on TV, “and these are not just fantasies of an elderly person, experts and military men are sitting in the studio, silently listening to this, nodding in agreement and drawing conclusions. Therefore, it is not surprising that often such wild attacks are supported by forceful actions."

“These words should be remembered when European officials, foreign diplomats or even some Russian journalists again talk about the absence of persecution of the canonical Ukrainian Church in Ukraine,” stressed the head of the ROC Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media.

As reported earlier, on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel, SBU Lieutenant General Skipalsky said that all monasteries of the UOC must be cleansed because there "are people with the behaviour and psychology of Russian saboteurs".
