On April 26, 2021, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky stated that he intends to discuss the situation of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine with Russian President Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.

Vladimir Zelensky said that he had instructed the head of his office, Andrei Yermak, to arrange a meeting with Russian President Putin. If this meeting takes place, Zelensky is ready to discuss the situation of Russian-speaking citizens and the Church in Ukraine.

"Even if these issues are on the agenda at the meeting, if it still takes place, then we will discuss these issues, I do not see what the problem is," said the President of Ukraine and noted that, in his opinion, the rights of Russian-speaking citizens and believers of the UOC are not violated in the country.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that on April 1, believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church handed over an appeal to President Vladimir Zelensky regarding the persecution of their Church.
