Father Georgiy, a priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, during a prayer vigil near the walls of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, said that for a year now believers have been praying for their sanctuary, for monks and believers who are going through difficult trials.

"Strengthen us, O Lord, sinners, who have been coming here for a year and trying to pray. Strengthen, O Lord, those who are in captivity today," he wished.

The clergyman reminded that now in the pre-trial detention center are Archpriest Sergiy Chertylin and Orthodox journalists, and prayers are constantly offered for them at the walls of the Kyiv-Pechersk sanctuary.

"In our prayers, we do not forget about them. We do not forget about Father Sergiy, about the journalist brothers Volodymyr, Valeriy, Andriy. I decided that it is necessary to add our Orthodox lawyers to the prayer list, so that the Lord strengthens them, guides them, and helps them. Help us all, Lord!" concluded Father Georgiy.

As reported by the UOJ, a UOC believer on the anniversary of standing near the Lavra expressed hope: "With prayer, we will win!"
