On April 3, 2024, MP Artem Dmytruk reported in his Telegram channel that he had spoken with the victims and conducted his own investigation into the beating of a priest and UOC believers in Ladyzhyn. He stated that he is submitting a parliamentary inquiry and will demand accountability for "all the thugs who, with the permission of the police, attacked people."
According to him, "the customer of this crime is the so-called head of the religious community of the OCU Mykhailo Bondarenko, who previously hired thugs to seize the Kazan temple."
The same people, the MP notes, came to the church territory on April 2.
"All of them are active employees of the security firm 'Oleksandr Guarantor-Group'. This company operates in Vinnytsia, where it is registered. The owner of the company is Oleksandr Medonchak," he wrote.
Artem Dmytruk called on Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko to conduct an inspection of this enterprise and take appropriate measures to revoke their license for security activities.
"In our country, there is no place for such scoundrels who can freely maim and kill peaceful people, let alone on religious grounds," the MP believes.
The elected official also drew attention to the unsatisfactory reaction of law enforcement agencies, "who stood by, saw everything, and did not react" to the attack.
"I also demand that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiate the appropriate disciplinary proceedings and take action against the so-called police officers!" the message says.
Dmytruk added that the captured OCU temple stands empty, no services are held in it, and it is guarded round the clock by representatives of private security firms.
"Locals also told me that they often notice someone smoking and having fun inside the shrine," he shared.
As reported by the UOJ, on April 2, about 30 militants stormed the territory of the church house in Ladyzhyn and attacked the rector and parishioners of the UOC community in honor of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God. The hired OCU militants blockaded the entrances and threatened Orthodox Christians with murder.
