Dumenko becomes Ogienko Prize winner for contributions to interfaith peace

The Committee for Awarding the All-Ukrainian Ivan Ogienko Prize, particularly for promoting interfaith harmony, has named the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, a laureate in the category of public, political, and spiritual activities. This was reported by the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration.

It is reported that this year, 11 individuals competed for the prize in the fields of spiritual development, culture, arts, science, and education.

Epifaniy Dumenko has become a prize winner in the field of public, political, and spiritual activities.

The prize was established to honor the Ukrainian linguist, writer, translator, educator, and state and church figure, born in Brusyliv in the Zhytomyr region, Ivan Ogienko (Metropolitan Illarion) (1882-1972). It has been awarded since 1995 for merits in the development of national spiritual culture, the affirmation of Ukrainian statehood, and interethnic and interfaith harmony.

As reported by the UOJ, MP Artem Dmytruk stated that the head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, is responsible for the massacre in Lenkivtsi.
