The convicted administrator of the Tulchyn Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Jonathan (Yeletskikh), has been included in the exchange fund as a prisoner of war for transfer to Russia. This was stated in the court decision of April 15, 2024.
According to data published in the Unified State Register, it became known that the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office petitioned for the cancellation of the measure of restraint against Met. Jonathan due to the adoption of a decision by the authorized body to transfer the accused as part of a prisoner swap. However, the decision has not been finalized yet as the documents confirming the decision to transfer Metropolitan Jonathan to court have not yet been received.
Currently, the UOC hierarch is under night house arrest and continues to challenge the decision of his detention.
As the UOJ reported, 75-year-old administrator of the Tulchyn Eparchy, Metropolitan Jonathan, suffered a stroke in March 2024.
