Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his evening address that on May 10, he personally invited the head of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Patriarch Bartholomew, to Switzerland for the "Summit of Peace" on the Ukrainian issue.
He noted that he had also invited the President of Argentina and the Prime Minister of Iceland along with the Patriarch.
"I had a conversation with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. I congratulated His Holiness on Easter, thanked him for his prayers for Ukraine and warm wishes to the Ukrainian people. Patriarch Bartholomew confirmed his participation in the Global Peace Summit, which is extremely symbolic for us," the President later wrote on X.
As reported by the UOJ, Swiss President Viola Amherd invited Pope Francis to attend the summit on Ukraine in Switzerland.
