Acting Minister of Culture Rostislav Karandieiev said on his Facebook page that those buildings of the Lower Lavra, which are not useful to the state, will be dismantled.

Karandieiev came to this conclusion after an inspection of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, in particular the premises of the Lower Lavra. The inspection took place jointly with the head of the Committee for Humanitarian and Information Policy Mykyta Poturaev, the general director of the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" Maksym Ostapenko and specialists from the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

"We will initiate the creation of a fund storage of museum valuables in one of the premises. Certainly, some of the ‘new buildings’ require demolition and restoration of the historical landscape. At the same time, individual buildings can benefit the state," wrote Karandieiev.

As reported, the Ministry of Culture announced the forthcoming "inventory" of the relics of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
