Abbot of the Tithe (Desiatynny) Monastery, Bishop Kliment of Borovka, said that only one bronze icon survived from the demolished church, which was embedded in the wall.
Bishop Kliment reported that the debris of the walls, monastery property, were loaded into dump trucks and taken away as if it were garbage.
According to information from the Dozor_kozak1 Telegram channel, during the demolition, one of the priests tried to enter the church and save the reproduction of the icon of the Mother of God 'Volodymyrska-Desiatynna'.
Police representatives began to twist the arms of the clergyman and tried to push him into a police van. The priest had to leave the monastery grounds.
As the UOJ reported, UOC lawyer Father Nikita Chekman said that the nighttime demolition of the Tithe Monastery was illegal because no documents regarding the dismantling of the shrine were included in the Unified Enforcement Proceedings Register.
