Patriarch Bartholomew: Purpose of ecumenical dialogue is common Eucharist

Prophecy of Unity between the Sister Churches” organized by the Loppiano Florence University, Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople stated that the goal of ecumenical dialogue is common Eucharist, reports fanarion.blogspot.com.

According to him, "the two-day organized event is a reminder and renewal of the call to the blessed path outlined by Pope Paul VI and Patriarch Athenagoras".

He noted that, according to the initiator of the ecumenical dialogue on the part of the Catholic Church, Chiara Lubich, “the dynamism should not be weakened in the relations between the two Churches, created by the historical embrace of the two Primates in Jerusalem when the thousand-year wall between Rome and Constantinople was destroyed”.

“For all of us, the only way to honor the memory, sacred enthusiasm and contribution of these visionaries of unity is the continuation of the dialogue of love in truth and truth in love between the two Churches, the ‘dialogue of life’ of the faithful, cooperation and common initiatives in the face of today's great challenges, always based on the desire for unity in the Divine Eucharist”.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in the opinion of Patriarch Bartholomew, God inspired to unite the RCC and Orthodoxy in a common cup.
