President Volodymyr Zelensky thanked Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople for joining the communique of the "Peace Summit," which took place in Switzerland. He expressed his gratitude on the social network X.
"I am grateful to the Ecumenical Patriarchate for joining the communique of the Global Peace Summit. The document remains open for signing, and I am confident that more countries and international organizations will join," the message reads.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine and all Ukrainians are grateful to the head of Phanar "for his prayers and constant attention to our country and people."
As reported by the UOJ, Phanar was represented at the summit personally by Patriarch Bartholomew. However, in the previously published final document of the Ukrainian "Peace Summit", the representative of the Constantinople Patriarchate was not listed among the signatories. He joined the signatories of the final document on the second day.
Earlier, UOC lawyer Robert Amsterdam reacted to President Volodymyr Zelensky's gratitude to Patriarch Bartholomew during the summit in Switzerland for "strengthening Orthodoxy in Ukraine," calling such words "the most insulting level of hypocrisy".
