"Just think about it! To them, a citizen of Ukraine is a 'prisoner of war enemy,'" wrote MP Artem Dmytruk on his Telegram channel, commenting on the recent searches of Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, in view of his refusal to be exchanged.

"Searches, threats of imprisonment, and a criminal case against an innocent citizen of Ukraine because of his refusal to be exchanged! The terror and genocide of the Ukrainian people continue!" the MP wrote.

Dmytruk highlighted that the persecution of the hierarch resumed immediately after he refused to go for an exchange at the request of the SBU officers.

"For this, the archbishop was required to sign a document for the exchange as a 'PRISONER OF WAR ENEMY!' Just think about it! To them, a citizen of Ukraine is a 'prisoner of war enemy'. Moreover, I highly doubt that this is an isolated case," he exclaimed.

Dmytruk stated that the entire public, both within our country and abroad, should be informed about this unprecedented case.

As previously reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Jonathan (Yeletskikh), the convicted ruling bishop of the Tulchyn Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, refused to be included in the exchange fund as a prisoner of war for transfer to Russia.
