On July 3, 2024, during a session of the Court of Appeals where the appeal against the decision of the Solomiansky Court to extend UOJ journalist Valery Stupnitsky's detention was considered, the judge refused to listen to the lawyer's arguments about the unfounded suspicion against the journalist.

In his speech, the defense lawyer pointed out why the accusations against Valeriy Stupnitsky were baseless.

One of the judges interrupted the lawyer, stating: "The court does not delve into this. We do not decide whether he is guilty or not."

As previously reported by UOJ, during the court session, the judges also did not want to hear the defense speech of UOJ journalist Valeriy Stupnitsky. As a result, the panel of judges decided to reject the appeal and keep the journalist in custody.
