OCU spokesperson Yevstratiy Zoria commented on Facebook about a video showing Romanian MP Diana Șoșoacă holding icons of Jesus Christ and the Kazan Mother of God.
Zoria criticized the politician for using the image of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.
“Does Romania not have its own venerated Theotokos icons? Or did they just use what FSB attributes they had on hand?” he wrote.
As reported by UOJ, the OCU has canceled the veneration of several Marian icons and saints "associated with the Russian Orthodox Church." The Kazan, Iveron, Three-Handed, and Seven-Sorrows icons of the Mother of God were removed from the Dumenko structure’s calendar.
