The public union 'Myriany' called on the Ukrainian Defense Forces, fellow believers, and Orthodox UOC members serving in the Ukrainian Armed Forces to refrain from deliberate and incidental shelling of Russian monasteries. They made this statement on their Telegram channel.

The response came after Russian media reported on the destruction and casualties at the Gornalsky St. Nicholas Belogorsky Men's Monastery in Kursk.

"Miryane" urged not to emulate those who, while supporting their own, ignore and remain silent about the more than one hundred destroyed churches during this "holy war" and the deaths of thousands of civilians from Russian missile and other attacks.

As reported by the UOJ, the Hornal St. Nicholas Bilohirsk Monastery near the city of Sudzha was shelled, causing significant damage to the main church and burning down the second church of the monastery, with other structures also damaged. Seventeen people were evacuated from the monastery, and one person was killed.
