During a liturgy, Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia addressed the congregation, urging them to pray for the preservation of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church due to the adoption of Law 8371 by the Verkhovna Rada, which aims to ban its activities, reports the Bulgarian National Radio.

“We witnessed events last week when a law was passed that banned the national Orthodox Church. The clergy were given nine months to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Otherwise, they will be banned from conducting services, and their churches will be seized,” said the Patriarch.

As reported by the UOJ, the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church reminded that the OCU (Orthodox Church of Ukraine) is not a canonical Church.
