Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople arrived at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – he was brought through the service gate, said Archdeacon Andrei Palchuk, the host of the prayer standing of UOC under the walls of the Parliament.
Archbishop Nikolai (Pochtovy) of Vasylkiv, who was on stage at that time, commented that Patriarch Bartholomew did not want to meet with the UOC believers, thus showing that "he is not our father, and we are not his children". He said that the prayer standing was coming to an end and thanked the participants for their loyalty to the Church and to the Primate, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
The UOC faithful sang the Symbol of Faith and "Many Years" to their Primate, His Beatitude Onuphry.
As reported, there are over 10,000 UOC believers at the prayer standing near the Rada.
