At a meeting of the Chernivtsi Regional Council of Churches, a decision was made to exclude the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) from the organization. The initiative was unanimously supported, reports the chaplain of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Roman Hryshchuk.
He noted that the vote passed without objections: "The proposal was voted on and unanimously supported! This is a good example for other regions and the capital! Slavery begins with silence, and liberation begins with recognizing the problem!"
He also expressed hope that similar decisions would be made at the level of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, as well as the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament): "We hope that the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches, and after them the Verkhovna Rada, will also, following Bukovyna, rid themselves of traitors and collaborators."
As previously reported, the Ternopil Regional Council of Churches plans to consider the exclusion of UOC representatives at its next meeting.
