On September 22, after the Divine Liturgy, representatives of the Military Recruitment Office (TRC) in Zakarpattia abducted two priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), according to Ukrainian MP Artem Dmytruk in his Telegram channel.

According to Dmytruk, "Father Vasyl from the Khust diocese and Father Stepan from the Odesa diocese were grabbed and shoved into a van."

"During the abduction, these brutes used force against the priests, took their phones, and turned them off. There is no contact with them, and their relatives don't know their condition or whereabouts. The wife of one of the clergymen is pregnant! It's known that the priests were driven around the entire Zakarpattia region for no clear reason," the MP reported.

He added that currently, hundreds of people are gathering near the Khust Military Recruitment Office, blocking roads, including intercity highways. Local residents are helping the believers by providing transportation.

"Gather, come! The only way to protect citizens from these criminals and their attacks is by uniting. What they fear most is ordinary people!" he urged.

Dmytruk noted that he is writing a parliamentary appeal regarding the situation.

Earlier, it was reported that the Uzhhorod Military Recruitment Office had mobilized the abbot of a monastery in Zakarpattia.
