A big coverage of UOC believers standing near VR published on the Net
Believers from different dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church told reporters why they had come to a prayer standing in front of the Verkhovna Rada.
On August 23, 2021, a large report appeared on the Web from the square in front of the Verkhovna Rada, where the prayer standing of the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took place. The video story was published by 1Kozak on its YouTube channel.
Orthodox publicist and missionary Ruslan Kalinchuk said that believers had come to pray so that the Lord would talk some sense to Patriarch Bartholomew and that he would be able to see what his actions, which only exacerbated the church schism in Ukraine, had brought about.
The leader of the “Miriane” movement, Vasily Makarovsky, told the reporter that believers from different dioceses said there were problems with the carriers. They were called and threatened not to deliver people to Kyiv.
He also said that during the prayer standing, people, first of all, rejoiced at the opportunity to pray together and the event itself; according to the Miriane leader, "this is our Independence Day."
Tatiana Tsariuk, the head of the “Miriane” unit in the Rivne region, was going to return to Bartholomew his gift she had received in Istanbul even before the Tomos was issued to the OCU. However, according to Tsariuk, "now it is a gift from the patriarch who is committing obvious iniquities."
Archpriest Viktor Zemlianoy, who deals with issues of interfaith settlement in the Rivne diocese, and who was able to withstand both searches and interrogations at the SBU during Poroshenko's time, said that “one of our persecutors recently called me and congratulated me on my birthday! Now he is not in office, but before it was a real enemy. So it's good when people do penance!"
“We don't want anyone to be killed by thunder. We just want that nobody be injured or beaten, and there be peace and grace in the country,” the priest emphasized.
Recall that the UOJ conducted a live broadcast of the prayer standing of the UOC near the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
