On October 19, 2024, SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) officers presented Metropolitan Theodosiy with a document requesting a change in his preventive measure, as reported by the press service of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
The press service stated, “Despite the metropolitan's severe health condition, today SBU officers arrived with a document demanding the strengthening of the hierarch's arrest, changing it from nighttime house arrest to round-the-clock house arrest.”
“The apparent goal of such actions can be seen as an attempt to prevent Metropolitan Theodosiy from meeting with his Cherkasy flock and protecting them from the legal abuses of local officials and attacks by militants,” the press service wrote, emphasizing that the SBU's request will be reviewed in court.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that unidentified individuals in camouflage uniforms seized the UOC Cathedral in Cherkasy on their second attempt.
