Former MP of the 8th convocation and Doctor of Medical Sciences Olha Bohomolets stated on the "Novyny Live" program that the Ukrainian nation could disappear within just a few generations.

"We are witnessing a catastrophic increase in mortality and a decrease in birth rates," Bohomolets said. "And if this trend continues, without taking into account the losses from the war and the figures on Ukrainian emigration (since we don’t have official numbers), just considering birth rates and mortality, the Ukrainian nation will be erased in 180 years. If we count 6 generations of 30 years each, there will be zero, zero Ukrainians."

According to her, "of course, the territory will remain, someone will sow grain on it, someone will be there, but they will no longer be Ukrainians." Bohomolets added that these calculations are an average for Ukraine as a whole. In certain regions, the situation could be even worse. For example, in Chernihiv region, Ukrainians may disappear in just 80 years.

As reported by the UOJ, according to the UN, Ukraine has the lowest birth rate in the world; and since the start of the Russian invasion, the country's population has decreased by 10 million.
