On December 2, 2024, a Mass for homosexuals and other members of the LGBT community was held at the Jesuit St. Ignatius Loyola Church in New York, reports complicitclergy.com.
The Mass, titled "All Hearts Together: A Mass for the LGBT Community," was presided over by Catholic priest Bryan Massingale and included women dancing with rainbow flags directly behind the altar.
The event was timed to coincide with World AIDS Day. At the same time, during Advent, the Catholic Church traditionally holds Masses in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
The Church of St. Ignatius Loyola is described as a place where "LGBT people are fully accepted and welcomed." Father Massingale himself has publicly identified as "homosexual" since 2019 and openly rejects the official Catholic Church teachings on homosexuality.
Earlier, UOJ reported that the RCC in Italy holds LGBT Masses on the beach.
