UGCC head discusses church-state cooperation with the Prime Minister

On December 18, a meeting was held at the House of Government of Ukraine between the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC), Sviatoslav Shevchuk, and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal. According to the UGCC press service, the discussion focused on cooperation between the Church and the state at both domestic and international levels.
Shevchuk also informed Shmyhal about the outcomes of the latest UGCC Synod session, which took place in Kyiv last week, and expressed gratitude "for the ongoing dialogue and partnership between the UGCC and government institutions."
The head of the UGCC emphasized that his religious organization will continue to support government initiatives aimed at strengthening unity and the economic stability of Ukrainian society.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the UGCC Synod discussed cooperation with the state during a meeting with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
