Phanar Exarch to Ukraine attends celebrations of Independence Day of Turkey

On October 29, 2021, the Exarch of Constantinople to Ukraine, the head of the Phanar stauropegion in Kyiv, Bishop Michael, took part in a gala reception in honor of the 98th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, reports the stauropegion on its Facebook page.

At the invitation of the Turkish Ambassador to Ukraine Yagmur Ahmet Guldere, the Constantinople hierarch visited the Hilton Hotel in Kyiv, where the celebrations took place. During the reception, the greeting of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was read.

In addition to the Phanar Exarch, the event was attended by the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andriy Taran, ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions of other states, employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey and the branch of the Yunus Emre Institute in Kyiv and other guests.

As reported, the Exarch of the Phanara to Ukraine said that the search for unity with the RCC is important for maintaining unity in Orthodoxy.
