Head of DECR UOC leads divine services in Orthodox parishes of Italy

On November 6-7, the head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Melety of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, led Divine Liturgies in Orthodox churches in two Italian cities, where there are many parishioners from Ukraine, reports the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy on his Facebook page.
The hierarch of the UOC visited the parish of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious in the city of Genoa on November 6, where he led the Requiem Mass. He was concelebrated by the rector of the church, Fr Mario Selvini and Fr John Malysh, as well as clerics of the Chernivtsi Eparchy. Apart from Ukrainians, Russians, Romanians, Moldovans, Georgians and Serbs also joined the prayer. After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Melety led a memorial service.
On November 7, Metropolitan Melety led a divine service at an Orthodox parish in the Italian commune of Forte dei Marmi. Vladyka was concelebrated by the rector of the parish, Priest John Malysh, Archimandrite Nikita and Deacon Dimitri Shcherban.
As reported, the hierarchs of the UOC and ROCOR laid the foundation for a new church in Ternavka of the Chernivtsi Eparchy.
