The spokesperson of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Yevstratiy Zoria, claimed on his Facebook page that the United Nations "has lost its authority" and is now "being used by our enemies." Zoria made this statement in the context of a report by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, which criticized the law banning the UOC.
Zoria shared a post about the "immediate response of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the conclusions of the UN High Commissioner," highlighting that "the law does not prohibit any of the existing churches in Ukraine."
In the comments, one of the OCU "priests," Ivan Pukas, urged Zoria to admit that the law criticized by the UN is indeed about "banning the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine ('ROC-U')."
"Then just say it outright, and stop justifying yourself to the deceased (referring to the UN – Ed.)," Pukas wrote. In response, Zoria said that the UN is "not entirely dead" but "is being used by our enemies."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs rebuked the UN for its criticism of the law banning the UOC.
