On December 30, 2024, the head of the military department of the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), Archimandrite Nestor (Rozvadovskyi), visited servicemen from one of the sapper units in the combat zone. According to the press service of the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese, the clergyman administered the Sacraments of Confession and Holy Communion to the soldiers.

“Afterward, Archimandrite Nestor thanked all the soldiers for their resilience and wished for peace and tranquility to prevail on Ukrainian soil in the new year, and for all of them to return home to their families safe and sound,” the statement read.

Father Nestor also brought the servicemen food supplies for their festive table.

In gratitude to the head of the military department of the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese of the UOC, the defenders signed a national flag for him.

The trip to the combat zone was blessed by Metropolitan Iriney of Dnipropetrovsk and Pavlohrad.

As the UOJ previously reported, approximately 8,500 people in the frontline zone received aid from the Favor Foundation.
