Kropyvnytskyi City Council Forces Transfer of the Church of the Intercession (UOC) to Schismatics
The decision, backed by 27 deputies, was made in response to a military request for a garrison church. The UOC community, which restored and maintained the church, was not consulted.
One would imagine that the commander could have simply asked the parish rector if his troops could attend the parish, or if a chaplain could be assigned to help with the increased volume of believers.
Unfortunately, this is not possible, as the Zelensky Government has banned clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from serving as military chaplains.
This move follows a pattern of local authorities forcefully transferring UOC properties to the OCU.

The Myth of the 'Female Diaconate'
The St. Phoebe Center for the Deaconess was denied a booth at the OCA's All-American Council. They claim that an ordained female diaconate is part of "our tradition" as Orthodox Christians. But they're wrong. Deaconesses were not “ordained” in the modern sense of the term; therefore, they were not “deacons” in the modern sense of the term. The OCA's response—a gentle but firm refusal even to discuss this error—is the right one.
Immaculate Misconceptions
A recent guest on Pints With Aquinas called Mary a "quasi-incarnation of the Holy Spirit." This new error is rooted in two older errors: the filioque and the Immaculate Conception.

A Question of Pentecost
The First Vatican Council refers to the pope as the "true vicar of Christ, head of the whole church and father and teacher of all Christian people." And yet St. Paul teaches that “Christ is head of the church” (Ephesians 5:23). As St. Justin Popovich said, the Roman Catholic Church has deposed Christ the God-Man in favor of the Pope, the man-god.
