CounterFlow Podcast: An Orthodox Look at Christian Nationalism

April 16, 2025—In a recent interview titled "An Orthodox Look at Christian Nationalism," Ben speaks of the key differences between Orthodox conceptions of patriotism and "Christian Nationalism" as it has been most recently incarnated in the American political scene.

Mr. Johnson kicks off the episode saying: "[Ben] is a friend of the show, friend in real life. [He] is Editor-in-Chief of the North American Branch of the Union of Orthodox Journalists. Fantastic website. He's going to do great work."

The idea for the episode comes from an ongoing series of articles on Orthodox Political Theology posted to Where the Wasteland Ends. The first two installments, titled On Orthodox Christian Citizenship & Relations to the State and Resistance to Evil by Force were the main impetus for the interview.

Ben stated that, "Buck Johnson is the best interviewers on the air right now. He asks interesting questions and really knows how to play off of his guests. It appears, at least to me, that this is driven by his own genuine curiosity on the topic of discussion and relentless pursuit of Truth."

The CounterFlow podcast is available on most podcasting apps and on YouTube. Well known Orthodox apologist Jay Dyer will appear on the podcast April 23, 2025.
