Young Adult Symposium to be Held in Atlanta, GA
The Prince Vladimir Youth Association, together with the St. Mary of Egypt Russian Orthodox Church in Roswell, GA, will be hosting a youth symposium on Orthodox Identity in America from May 30-June 1st, 2025.
Nestled in the northern Atlanta suburbs, St. Mary's is well-known for its vibrant parish life, offering regular events and activities to parishioners and visitors alike.
"This parish was not chosen by chance. Its parishioners include native-born Americans, Russians, Ukrainians, people from the Middle East, and immigrants from the former Soviet republics."
The symposium seeks to continue conversations held at the 14th All-Diaspora Youth Conference on "Preserving Orthodox Identity and Heritage Abroad," concentrating on the life and experiences of Orthodox young adults in the southeastern United States—namely Tennessee, the Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.
Guest speakers will include Bishop Iakov (James) of Sonora, Second Vicar of the Western American Diocese, and Fr. Peter Markovich, Rector of Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Mebane, NC.
"The Young Adult Symposium (ages 18-30) is an opportunity for fellowship with like-minded Orthodox Christians. Activities incorporate various workshops, together with meals, and Divine Services (including Vigil and Sunday Liturgy)."
