Abbot of Pochaev Skete Taken by Authorities to Military Unit

RIVNE, Ukraine — Archimandrite Paphnuty, the abbot of the Holy Spirit Skete of the Pochaev Lavra, has been taken to a military unit in Ukraine’s Rivne region. The news was shared by Deacon Vadym Dobrovsky of the Skete, who stated that the abbot was forcibly removed by representatives of the Territorial Recruitment Center.

Fr. Paphnutiy has been the abbot of Pochaev's Holy Spirit Skete for almost thirty years, having been elected abbot in 1997.

Previously, UOJ reported that Archimandrite Paphnutiy had been forcibly detained.
