SPRINGFIELD, VA — The Holy Synod of Bishops of the Orthodox Church in America has confirmed the appointment of Fr. David Bozeman as Secretary of the Church, following a special teleconference session on June 17. The nomination, put forward by His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, received prior endorsement from the Metropolitan Council earlier that day.

Fr. David, who succeeds Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino (now Chancellor), brings extensive pastoral and administrative experience to the role. A magna cum laude graduate of St. Vladimir’s Seminary, he serves as priest-in-charge at St. John of Damascus Church in Tyler, Texas, and Dean of the Southcentral Deanery of the Diocese of the South. He is expected to assume his new duties at the Chancery by summer’s end.

Previously, UOJ reported that Archpriest Alessandro Margheritino had been appointed as Chancellor of the OCA.
